Hard Water

Water quality and access is critical to you and your family’s wellness. Poor quality water can lead to everything from bad tasting chemicals to gastrointestinal illnesses, which is why it’s important to analyze your water and make sure you have the healthiest water for you and your family.

Have you experienced one or more of these in your home?

Let’s begin by calculating your water treatment needs. Don’t let this scare you. If you don’t know the answers to fill in the form, contact us! We’ll put you in touch with someone who can help.

What color is your water?

If the water in your home appears green, blue, orange, brown or any other color than clear, you probably have an easily fixable problem with a water filtration system.

What does your water smell like?

No one wants smelly water. If you notice an odor when you are near a source of water in your home, you probably need to treat your water. Deciding between a whole house system or a system that is installed only where the problem exists is your next step.

What does your water taste like?

Water should be tasteless. If you notice a salty or metallic taste when drinking a glass of water from your home, a water treatment system can easily remove these unwanted tastes.

What are PFAS?

PFAS is an acronym for per- or polyfluoroalkyl substances. You may have heard of them referred to as ‘forever’ chemicals. This is because they are known to resist breaking down. They can accumulate in our environment and in our bodies over time.

What Color is your Water?

Blue? Green? Orange? Find out what water color indicates. Water color often indicates the presence of contaminants that can cause a number of issues for you and your family.

Blue or Green

You may have copper in your water supply. This can lead to gastrointestinal illnesses. A Whole House Filter is recommended for this contaminant.

Brown or Black

You may have manganese in your water supply. This can lead to a bitter, metallic taste. A Whole House Filter is recommended for this contaminant.

Red or Orange

You may have iron in your water supply. This can lead to stains, a metallic taste, or a rusty color. An Iron & H2S Filter is recommended for this contaminant.

What are PFAs?

Smelly water may indicate the presence of contaminants.

PFAS, or ‘forever’ chemicals, are known to resist breaking down. They can accumulate in our environment and in our bodies over time. The most common PFAS are believed to be PFOA and PFOS.

PFAS chemicals are known to be found in substances used in fire fighting, household products such as non-stick items and water- or fire-resistant materials and in some of our food packaging. If found with a water test, these ‘microplastics’ can be filtered out of your water using custom-built water treatment systems.

What Does Your Water Smell Like?

Smelly water may indicate the presence of contaminants.

Even if you like the smell of a swimming pool, you don’t want the water you drink to have the same chemical make-up.

If your water smells strange, it could be caused by chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, dissolved solids, iron, barium, or cadmium. Find the cause and select the right filter to eliminate these chemicals from your water supply.

A swimming pool

You may have chlorine in your water supply. This can dry out hair and skin. A Whole House Filter or Point-of-Use System are recommended for this contaminant.

Rotten eggs

You may have hydrogen sulfide in your water supply. This can lead to a rotten egg or chemical smell. A Whole House Filter or Iron & H2S Filter is recommended for this contaminant.

Sediment

You may have dissolved solids in your water supply. This can lead to gastrointestinal illnesses and foul odors. A Whole House Filter or Point-of-Use System is recommended for this contaminant.

Fish

You may have barium or cadmium in your water supply. This can lead to circulatory system and kidney system effects. A Whole House Filter is recommended for these contaminants.
